Invasive Species
PODA 2.0 (Portable On-Demand Art)
Invasive Species is a project from 2015, sponsored by the City of Houston and the Houston Arts Alliance, that combines the soft sculpture styles of Elaine Bradford and Emily Link, creating an immersive environment inside of a PODS container depicting life-size human figures exploring and encountering unknown varieties of flora and fauna. Visitors to the installation could utilize the different viewing portholes and decide who is friend and who is foe. The ecosystem evolved over the course of the exhibition, and traveled to different locations throughout Houston, with designated days in which the public was invited to participate in the fantastical world.
